2023 Winter Collaboration

Last year, at Hart Shoreditch, the holiday season took on a special glow. On December 11th, 2022, we partnered with local multimedia artist Avalele to transform our ground-floor windows into a festive celebration of East London’s rich history.

As passers-by admired the 14 beautifully painted windows, they were transported to moments from Shoreditch’s past. One window featured a silk scarf, a nod to the silk weavers who once called this area home, while another showcased a hammer, symbolizing the proud craftsmanship that defined the neighbourhood. Each scene blended history, design, and festivity, capturing the spirit of the East End.

For us, this wasn’t just about holiday decorations—it was a chance to deepen our connection with the community we cherish. Avalele’s artistry became a highlight of the season, drawing in locals and visitors alike to marvel at the blend of tradition and creativity.

During that festive period, guests and visitors enjoyed these stunning displays while soaking in East London’s holiday magic, from cozy restaurants and bustling Christmas markets to twinkling festive lights, all just steps from Hart Shoreditch.

Though the season has passed, the memories linger on, reminding us of the special role our hotel plays in celebrating the artistry and heritage of Shoreditch.
